Educators from different areas of academic study, we joined together to explore and investigate the wicked problem of education and what it means for our students and ourselves. With our different experiences and knowledge, we hope to arrive at a solution that is in the best interests of students everywhere.
Layna Lesnau is an Art Educator in Lansing, Michigan. She teaches at a small public charter school and focuses on integrating art into core academic studies. By trade she is a photographer but enjoys all artistic mediums. She holds a BFA in photography from College for Creative Studies, a BFA in Art Education with a specialization in Museum Studies from Michigan State University and is currently working on her Masters of Educational Technology from Michigan State University.
Ashley Himan is a Social Studies teacher in Sebastopol, California. She teaches at a public high school and focuses on integrating technology into her Social Studies classes. She holds a B.A. in History from Sonoma State University and is currently working on her Masters of Educational Technology from Michigan State University.
Nathan Kleinschuster is currently teaching general music at a STEM charter school in south Philadelphia. He graduated from Lebanon Valley College with a bachelors of science in music education. Stacey Thompson is an Assistant Manager of a retail shopping in center in Clarion, PA. She is serving her second term as a school board member for the Keystone School District and a Regional Director for the Pennsylvania School Boards Association. She holds a BA in Liberal Studies with an emphasis in education as well as a Master of Education in Curriculum and Instruction from Clarion University, and a Masters of Education in Policy and Administration of Higher Education from the University of Pittsburgh, as well as two Graduate Certificates, in College Teaching and Leadership from Central Michigan University and is currently working on a Masters of Education in Educational Technology from Michigan State University.
