RETHINK / REINVENT

what it means to  teach and everything about teaching

There is a wicked problem, a problem that does not have an easy solution, and it involves education. Educators need to revise their pedagogy. Is teaching an art or a science? Is there one way to teach subject matters? Traditional education would lead you to believe that there is only one way to teach. Then why are there so many students unable to connect to the school system and learn effectively? In order to learn, you need to be quiet. Is this true? Can conversation and collaboration lead to a more authentic and effective learning experience for students? And finally, why is there such a disconnect with students and educators? All these questions combined together and they form the ultimate wicked problem, which is does traditional education still work for 21st Century learners? What does it mean to rethink and reinvent education and how do we go about doing those two things?

To begin exploring this idea, we need to start at the beginning which is describing our wicked problem and the research which has been conducted on this topic. Click here to learn more about our wicked problem and research.

From our solutions, we then created and conducted a survey to find out how other people in education thought about our process on solving this wicked problem. To see the survey, click here. To learn about the results and the impact they have on our solution, click here
